Last Rites Studios makes the kind of stories polite company usually regrets inviting in: murder, monsters, bad decisions, gallows humor, and characters who absolutely should know better.
The Studio
No committee. No beige walls. No safe choices.
We like our stories a little dangerous.
Last Rites Studios is the independent home of writer Sean Hale — a place for horror, black comedy, murder mysteries, and the occasional elegant disaster.
The rule here is pretty simple: if the story could have come from anybody, it needs another pass. We want sharp dialogue, strong characters, memorable images, and at least one moment that makes the audience laugh when they probably should not.
Keep the Weird Parts
The strange edges are usually the good part. Horror can be funny. Comedy can be vicious. Mystery can get ugly.
Make It Play on Screen
We write for actors, cameras, sound, silence, timing, and those little visual beats a screenplay reader can already see in their head.
